Raman Patel
Chief Financial Officer
Raman Patel, born in India, worked at his family’s multiple businesses in his home country. He earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Agriculture in 1968 in Gujarat, India. He then moved to America and began working in a factory labor job. While working, he entered the convenience store industry and opened his own convince store in 1975.
After a year as a business owner, Raman emerged into the lodging industry and began purchasing lands and developing hotels with the capital earned from his properties. He opened his first hotel property, the Oak Haven, in Clarksville Tennessee in June 1976. However, he faced many challenges throughout his journey. Raman and some of his partners came across difficulties with obtaining loans for their projects due to their race and the time period. This obstacle didn’t stop him, his group worked tirelessly to open their own bank where they wouldn’t get denied for another bank loan again.
Since then, Raman has developed many hotel properties and provided capital for investments in various hotels with members of his strong network. To this day, Raman continues to oversee his hotel properties and is on site every single day. With his hard earned ROIs, Raman pursues philanthropic ventures as he generously works to donate money to his home town as he builds schools, crematories, and other community enhancing projects in Gujarat India.
Jayesh Patel started working in hotels at a very young age. Before graduating high school, he was in charge of properties on his own. He studied at multiple Universities such as Lipscomb University and the University of Tennessee Knoxville, but completed his degree at Austin Peay State University. After receiving his Bachelors of Science Degree in Business, he returned to the hospitality industry where he continued to develop and operate multiple hotels.
Throughout his time in Clarksville, Jayesh has held a strong position in his community as he served on the Chamber of the Board of Directors for the Conventions & Visitors Bureau for Clarksville Montgomery County as the Chairman of the Board for many years. He has overseen the constructions, renovations, sales, and operations of many hotel properties over the course of his life and will continue to do so.

Shaan Patel received his Bachelors of Science degree in Hospitality Management from the University of Central Florida’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management in Orlando, which is one of the nation’s top tourism destinations. While in Orlando, Shaan worked in many hospitality establishments and for companies such as Rosen Hotels and Loews Hotels. These hotels and resorts consists of a collective of over 9,000 rooms and the Universal Orlando Resort & Theme Parks highly relied on many of these properties.
After graduating, Shaan moved back to Tennessee and continued his experience in high end hotels at the Omni Nashville which is the second largest hotel property in Tennessee. Shaan is now on route to completing his Executive Masters of Management in Hospitality degree from Cornell University in May 2025. He has currently rejoined his father and grandfather in Clarksville where they work on owning and operating Excel Hospitality Group’s hotel properties as well as looking for opportunities for expansion.
